Igor Tudor has parted ways with Tottenham Hotspur after just 44 days as interim head coach, overseeing seven matches in all competitions.

The club confirmed that the split was “mutually agreed” and took effect immediately.

The decision follows a damaging 3-0 home defeat to fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest on 22 March, leaving Spurs 17th in the Premier League, only one point above the relegation zone with seven games remaining.

Since replacing Thomas Frank on 14 February, Tudor’s side recorded five defeats in seven matches. His short-term contract had been set to run until the end of the season.

Tottenham said an update on the appointment of a new head coach would be shared “in due course,” with reports suggesting a replacement could be announced in the coming days, ahead of the return of most players from international duty.

In the interim, assistant coach Bruno Saltor will oversee training sessions. Goalkeeping coach Tomislav Rogic and fitness coach Riccardo Ragnacci have also left the club.

Tudor, 47, had missed media duties after the Forest defeat due to the recent death of his father.

Spurs added: “We thank Igor, Tomislav and Riccardo for their efforts during the past six weeks, in which they worked tirelessly. We also acknowledge the bereavement that Igor has recently suffered and send our support to him and his family at this difficult time.”
