The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, on Tuesday travelled to Maiduguri to visit those injured in the recent improvised explosive device (IED) attacks, currently receiving care at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

As part of his visit, he inspected the site of the explosion at the Monday Market, carrying out an on-the-ground assessment of the damage and security situation.

The police boss also held strategic meetings at the Borno State Government House and the Borno State Police Command, where he reviewed existing security arrangements and explored ways to strengthen coordinated responses among agencies.

He sympathised with the victims and their families, reassuring residents that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to identifying and dismantling those behind the attacks.

Disu further stated that security across Maiduguri has been reinforced, with additional deployments, improved surveillance, and joint operations intensified to prevent further threats and safeguard the public.
