The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared that it will no longer accept communications from either the David Mark-led or Rafiu Bala-led factions of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
This follows a review of the Court of Appeal’s March 12 judgment regarding leadership disputes within the party.
Mohammed Kudu, INEC’s Chairman of Information and Voter Education, stated that the commission will not engage with either faction, nor monitor any of their meetings, congresses, or conventions until the Federal High Court issues a final ruling on the matter.
Additionally, INEC announced it would remove David Mark’s name from its official portal. Rafiu Bala, who previously served as vice chairman of the ADC, had approached the courts to challenge the takeover of the party’s National Working Committee by David Mark and his team.
