Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo has announced that her latest film, Return of Arinzo, has topped the Nigerian box office over the Easter weekend.
Ojo shared on X on Monday that the movie earned N104.8 million in its opening weekend, setting several records in the process.
“Thank you, everyone, for the love you showed us. TROA opens with N104.8m, breaking multiple records in just one weekend. Highest grossing Easter weekend performance, biggest opening for a Nollywood sequel. This was only possible because of you,” she wrote.
FilmOne Entertainment, the movie’s distributor, also confirmed the milestone on Instagram, describing the debut as a strong statement at the box office.
“₦104.8M in its opening weekend, biggest Easter opening, and the highest-grossing film of the weekend,” the distributor said.
