Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has stirred reactions on social media after calling out religious leaders over what he described as their silence amid rising insecurity in the country.

Taking to his social platform, the outspoken artist questioned why pastors have not taken stronger action to protect their followers despite the growing wave of violence.

“Why are Nigerian pastors not fighting for Christians? They use bullet proof cars yet their followers are dying,” he said, pointing to what he believes is a gap between church leaders and their congregations.

He went further to challenge clergy members to step beyond the pulpit, suggesting they should mobilize protests to demand accountability from the government.

“Why can’t pastors lead protest to the Aso Rock?” he asked, referring to Nigeria’s seat of power.

Portable also compared reactions across religious groups, arguing that attacks involving Muslims often trigger more immediate and forceful responses.

“You can’t harm a Muslim and there won’t be chaos,” he added.

His remarks have since fueled intense conversations online, with Nigerians divided over the expectations placed on religious leaders during periods of national unrest.
