Content creator King Mitchy has announced that Nigerians donated a total of ₦7.5 million to support the family of late Nollywood actor Mr Ibu after she appealed for financial assistance on their behalf. The fundraiser came after the actor’s widow and children revealed they were struggling to pay rent, school fees and other basic living expenses.
Sharing the update on social media, King Mitchy posted a video of Mr Ibu’s widow, Stella Maris, kneeling in appreciation as she thanked everyone who contributed to the appeal.
According to King Mitchy, the donations will cover the children’s school fees, the eldest daughter’s WAEC examination fees, the family’s rent and other urgent needs. She also disclosed that she advised Stella Maris to relocate to a more affordable home after they had a lengthy conversation.
The content creator explained that she only learned about the family’s situation two days earlier after a neighbour contacted her, adding that her priority was to ensure the children received the support they deserved.

“This money will cover: • The children’s school fees • The eldest daughter’s WAEC exams • Their rent and other urgent needs.
“After speaking with the mother, I advised her to move to a more affordable place. We had a very long, heartfelt conversation — I’ll be posting the other parts soon because there’s so much to share.
“A lot of you have been sending questions — I asked her most of them. Just to clarify: I only got to know about this family two days ago when a neighbor reached out. I knew nothing before then. My only focus has always been making sure these children get the help they deserve.
“God bless every one of you who showed up for them. This is what we can achieve when we come together. Let’s keep supporting families in need.”
