A Nigerian legal practitioner, Olakiitan Bolu Agbanje, has taken formal action against relationship therapist Blessing CEO by submitting a petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), accusing her of collecting money under false pretences.

During a chat with TVC News, the lawyer called on authorities to move quickly in apprehending the social media personality and to investigate the circumstances surrounding the funds she reportedly solicited.

Agbanje also shared a deeply personal story about her daughter’s struggle with cancer, explaining how the diagnosis nearly broke her and pushed her into intense research and action in a bid to save her child. She stressed that this experience makes her particularly sensitive to issues involving the illness.

In the petition, which she copied to the EFCC’s Lagos office, she insisted that the agency must uncover the true reason behind the money request and determine whether any wrongdoing occurred.

“I know how I felt when my daughter had cancer. I almost ran mãd, and I know the research that went into it and what steps we took.

If it wasn’t for the cause it was meant, we need to know. If, in fact, this person is even sick. This person has the money to take care of themselves, yet they go to the public to ask for funds; that’s a form of fraud”.
