The Nigerian DJ Association has directed its members, both within the country and abroad, to temporarily stop playing Burna Boy’s music following his public altercation with DJ Tunez.
The move comes after reports surfaced of a confrontation between Burna Boy and DJ Tunez at a Lagos party, which escalated to a tense clash involving members of the singer’s entourage before the situation was eventually contained.
In a statement, the association expressed support for DJ Tunez, describing the incident as concerning and underscoring the importance of mutual respect within the entertainment industry.
The group emphasized that DJs play a crucial role in promoting artists and must be treated as equal partners in the music ecosystem.
As part of its decision, the association announced a temporary ban on Burna Boy’s songs in DJ sets, noting that the restriction will remain in place while the matter undergoes review.
