Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have repelled a coordinated attack by ISWAP insurgents at Mallam Fatori in Abadam Local Government Area, Borno State, neutralising over 60 terrorists.

According to an operational report obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, the attackers struck the 68 Battalion, Mobile Defence Area on Tuesday evening. The assault originated from the Duguri General Area and targeted the frontage of Bravo Company, with insurgents advancing on foot and using armed drones.

Joint Task Force (JTF) troops, supported by air assets, swiftly countered the drones and forced the insurgents to retreat toward the Arege General Area in disarray. The report confirmed that four soldiers sustained minor injuries during the operation.

Ongoing intelligence and surveillance operations have identified six suspected terrorist groups moving toward Arege, with plans to fully secure the area and prevent further attacks.

A video released by the JTF shows the aftermath of the airstrike, demonstrating the precision and readiness of the troops. The task force reaffirmed its commitment to protecting civilians and maintaining pressure on terrorist networks in Borno and neighbouring states.
