Bola Tinubu has instructed the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) to carry out a nationwide rice distribution across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to support Nigerians observing the Ramadan and Lenten seasons.
The directive was confirmed by Hope Uzodimma over the weekend. He said the initiative is intended to promote unity and demonstrate care for citizens during these spiritually significant periods for both Muslims and Christians.
Uzodimma explained that the distribution will be coordinated through the Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ extensive grassroots network, ensuring that families nationwide receive support during the fasting periods.
He added that the programme builds on previous efforts by the administration, recalling a similar rice distribution carried out during last Christmas to assist households during the festive season.
Both Christian and Muslim communities are expected to benefit from the current initiative, which reflects the government’s emphasis on inclusivity, solidarity, and national unity.
“This initiative reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to unity and compassion. Ramadan and Lent are seasons that remind us of sacrifice, charity and care for one another,” Uzodimma said.
He further noted that the distribution will be executed through the RHA’s state, local government, and ward structures to ensure wide coverage, transparency, and accountability.
