Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has appointed Mrs Chiamaka Nnake as the new Secretary to the State Government, making her the first woman to hold the position in the state.

The announcement was made on Monday in a statement released by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime.

Nnake, 39, is from Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government Area and brings over 13 years of experience in finance, strategy, and economic planning. Before her new role, she served as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning and also chaired Solution Fun City Limited.

During her time as commissioner, she played a key role in coordinating the mobilisation, planning, and allocation of government resources to drive socio-economic development across the state.

She has also served on several strategic boards and initiatives, including the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, the Internal Revenue Service Board, and the Small Business Agency.

In addition, Nnake currently functions as the state’s Reform Champion for Ease of Doing Business and serves as the focal point for Social Investment Programmes, where she has been actively promoting reforms targeted at inclusive growth.

Prior to joining the state government, she worked as a Senior Strategy Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Nigeria, handling over 30 client engagements across various sectors. She also contributed to the development of the Anambra Vision 2070 plan, a long-term blueprint aimed at driving the state’s transformation over the next 50 years.
