A woman has come forward with an emotional account of her split from popular entertainer Segun Johnson, alleging that he ended their long-standing relationship shortly after persuading her to return to Nigeria from the UK.
In a video that has gained widespread attention online, she detailed their 13-year history, describing a relationship marked by challenges but sustained by loyalty, particularly during the early stages of his career before fame.
She explained that they reconnected while she was living in the UK, and he encouraged her to revive the relationship, reminding her of how she stood by him when he had little.
“I have been in a relationship with him for 13 years. Even though it was full of ups and downs, I relocated to the UK at one point, and we rekindled when he came over. By then, he had become popular.
He told me to let us continue our relationship because I stayed by him when he had nothing, so we picked up where we left off.”
According to her, he later urged her to relocate back to Nigeria so they could build a life together. Though initially hesitant about becoming dependent on him, she eventually agreed to return.
“He told me to relocate back to Nigeria, and he would provide whatever I needed. I refused, I said I didn’t want to become a liability.
He insisted and I listened to him. I had to leave the new job I got, and I travelled to Lagos without telling my friends. He picked me up at the airport and gave me a new necklace.”
She said things appeared to be going well at first, as they celebrated his birthday the next day, which coincided with Valentine’s Day. However, the situation soon changed.
“The second week, he went to the UK. When he came back, he brought a money-counting machine. I was surprised to see it.
I planned to buy it for him because he earns money when he sings at events. I asked him who had given him the machine, and he said it was a woman.”
Her suspicions reportedly led her to check his phone, where she claimed to have discovered another relationship.
“I later checked his phone and discovered that a lady he met in London had given him the machine, and they had been dating for about a year.”
She further alleged that instead of addressing the issue face-to-face, he ended the relationship through a voice note.
“Later, he said we should meet and talk, but he couldn’t make it, so he sent me a VN saying he wanted to move on with someone else. I was shocked because he was the one who told me to relocate back to Nigeria.”
She said his reaction when confronted showed no remorse.
“I asked him questions, and he showed no remorse. He said, ‘Now is the time,’ and he wasn’t getting any younger. He immediately sent all my things back to me via Uber. This happened last month.”
Still grappling with the experience, she expressed pain over being asked to leave her life abroad, only for the relationship to end so abruptly, describing the situation as a deep betrayal shaped by timing, secrecy, and a lack of empathy after years together.
