The 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony will be held in London for the first time on October 26, organisers announced on Thursday.
The historic edition will mark the 70th anniversary of the prestigious award, which was first introduced in 1956 and first won by England legend Stanley Matthews.
The Ballon d’Or remains football’s most coveted individual honour, long dominated by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo over the past decade.
In 2025, Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembélé claimed the award at a ceremony in Paris, organised by Groupe L’Équipe, owners of France Football magazine.
However, organisers are yet to reveal the exact venue in London for the 2026 ceremony.
