Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has taken a swipe at social media activist VeryDarkMan after he seemingly credited his protest for the rescue of the victims of the Oyo school abduction.
Reacting to the claim, Seun insisted the activist had no role in the rescue, mockingly referring to him as “VeryDaftMan.”
“VeryDarkMan saying he’s the one that made the government rescue the children, that’s a lie. His protest was just to meet the Governor which he did but the governor has nothing to do with the rescue of the children. That’s why I call him verydaftman cos imagine thinking you can gather your rats and then make the government do something within 3 weeks,” he said.
According to Seun, VeryDarkMan’s protest only resulted in a meeting with the Oyo State governor and had nothing to do with the operation that freed the abducted victims.
He maintained that the rescue was carried out by security agencies and dismissed the idea that a protest could have compelled the government to secure the victims’ release within such a short period.
VeryDarkMan had earlier suggested that the public pressure generated by his protest contributed to the successful rescue of the abducted victims.
