American fitness influencer and content creator Ashton Hall has likened Lagos to Miami, describing Nigeria’s commercial hub as “an African version of Miami” after visiting the country during his recent African tour.
Hall made the comment during a livestream on his Kick account after concluding his multi-country trip across the continent on Sunday.
According to the influencer, Nigeria was the standout destination on his tour, with Lagos leaving a lasting impression because of its energy, culture and food.
“Lagos, Nigeria feels like an African version of Miami. I stayed in Lagos when I was in Nigeria. Their culture, food, I mean I like all of them. Africa is fire,” Hall said.
Although he said he enjoyed his time in Nigeria, Hall noted that he would rather visit again than move there permanently.
“I would definitely come back from time to time, but I don’t think I would live there,” he said.
Hall’s visit attracted significant attention online as fans, celebrities and content creators welcomed him to Lagos.
During his stay, he met music executive Don Jazzy and collaborated with some of Nigeria’s top streamers and digital creators, with the videos generating millions of views across social media.
His African tour also took him to South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Ghana, where he documented local food, tourist attractions, fitness activities and cultural experiences.
