Burna Boy has reached another historic milestone, becoming the first African artist to top the Billboard Global 200 Songs chart.

The Nigerian music star achieved the feat with “Dai Dai,” his FIFA World Cup collaboration with Shakira, which climbed to No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts this week.

The song also enjoyed a strong showing in the United States, rising 12 spots to a new peak of No. 55 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Meanwhile, fellow Nigerian singer Tems also celebrated a major career achievement as her song “What You Need” climbed five places to a new peak of No. 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 after spending 15 weeks on the chart.

The track had earlier reached No. 1 on both the Billboard Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart and the Mediabase Urban Radio Airplay chart, making Tems the first solo African artist to top both radio charts.
