Former Chief Security Officer to late military leader General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha (rtd), has rejected allegations made by former DSS operative Dennis Amachree regarding the circumstances of Abacha’s death.
Addressing journalists in Kaduna, Al-Mustapha insisted that the account published in Amachree’s book was fabricated, alleging that the former intelligence officer did not act alone in writing it.
According to him, the claims are untrue and can be disproved, as he says he has CCTV footage of what transpired.
“The boy was asked to write the lies by others. I have all the CCTV footages of what happened in my custody, so what he said are not true,” Al-Mustapha stated.
He called on the public to dismiss the allegations, arguing that it was wrong to spread what he described as falsehoods about a deceased person.
“Just ignore his lies. It’s bad to say such things on someone that is dead,” he said.
Al-Mustapha added that he would respond fully to the allegations at the appropriate time, claiming the book’s author was following a script orchestrated by others.
“But I want to assure you that the author of the book is acting out a script. He is not acting alone. At the appropriate time, I will respond to these lies. You don’t tell your enemies your plans,” he added.
