Charles Okocha emerged victorious over street-pop star Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, after their celebrity boxing rematch ended in controversy at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Friday, July 31, 2026.
The showdown, themed “Unfinished Business” and staged under the Chaos in the Ring franchise, lasted only one round before descending into disorder.
The drama began when both celebrities exchanged punches, but the fight took an unexpected turn after Portable grabbed Okocha and wrestled him to the canvas. The referee immediately stepped in to restore order as security personnel and bouncers entered the ring to calm the situation.
Once the opening round ended, Portable walked away from the ring, drawing loud boos from sections of the crowd. Although he later returned, he argued that bringing Okocha to the ground meant he deserved the victory.
Fight officials disagreed, ruling that Portable had abandoned the contest by leaving the ring and awarding the win to Okocha.
Announcing the decision, the event host said, “We do have a decision. And due to the fact that Portable abandoned the ring after the first round, we have a winner, Mr. Algorithm, Charles.”
Because the contest ended prematurely, no official round-by-round scorecards were recorded. After the verdict, Portable was seen disputing the outcome with members of his team, maintaining that Okocha had not competed fairly.
