Actor Godwin Nnadiekwe has alleged that he survived what he believes was an attempt to use him for ritual purposes after a handshake with another actor.
Sharing the claim on his Instagram Story on Wednesday, Nnadiekwe said the alleged plot did not succeed because of what he described as his strong spiritual backing.
The actor further alleged that Nollywood has a hidden dark side that many people are unwilling to address. He warned that actors should not expect industry guilds to protect them when faced with such situations.
He encouraged colleagues and other creatives to be mindful of the people they keep around them, urging them to carefully screen those they work with, protect their personal space and remain alert while on the job.
Nnadiekwe also called for improved ethical standards, stronger accountability and better duty of care within the film industry, insisting that everyone deserves to work in a safe environment.
He wrote:
“They tried to use me to renew their usual rituals but my foundation is too strong for them. Nollywood’s dark side is real, and no Guild is coming to save you. Vet your circles, guard your energy, protect your space and know who you work with.
