Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan have appointed experienced Nigerian coach Salisu Yusuf as their new Technical Adviser (also referred to as Head Coach/Technical Adviser) ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The club made the announcement in an official statement on Friday.

Yusuf replaces Nurudeen Aweroro (and parts of his technical team), who left by mutual agreement a few days earlier after guiding 3SC to a strong third-place finish in the 2025/26 NPFL (60 points from 38 matches). That result secured the club a place in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup — their return to continental football after a long absence.

The club highlighted his experience, knowledge of Nigerian football, and track record of developing local talent as key reasons for the appointment. They expect him to provide “strong leadership, tactical expertise and a winning mentality” as 3SC balances domestic ambitions with their Confederation Cup campaign.
