Veteran broadcaster and politician, Modele Sarafa-Yusuf, has formally announced her resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement released on Thursday, Sarafa-Yusuf explained that her decision followed “an extended period of travelling and spending time with family, and much thought and quiet reflection.”
She confirmed that she had already notified the party leadership in Ogun State and submitted her resignation letter.
“My time in the APC has been an important part of my political journey, and I am grateful for the people I have met, the relationships I have built and the experiences that have shaped my understanding of public service and leadership,” she said.
Sarafa-Yusuf emphasized that her departure from the APC does not signal an exit from public service. Instead, she described it as a moment of reassessment and transition.
“There comes a time when one must have the courage to reassess one’s path. At this point in my journey, I believe it is important to consider carefully how best I can continue to contribute to Ogun State and Nigeria,” she noted.
She reiterated her commitment to values of service, integrity, inclusion, competence, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
While stepping away from partisan politics for now, Sarafa-Yusuf disclosed that she would return to her professional and business commitments after her holiday, using the period to reflect on the next phase of her political engagement.
She concluded by wishing the APC and its members well.
