Nigerian dancer and entertainer Poco Lee’s plea hearing in the United Kingdom has been scheduled for February 8, 2027, while his trial is expected to commence on March 8, 2027.
Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as Oluomo of Derby, disclosed the latest court dates after attending proceedings on Tuesday.
“I was in court today, as I mentioned in my last tweet, regarding the case involving one of our Nigerian brothers, Poco Lee,” Kuti said.
Kuti had previously confirmed that Poco Lee was being held on remand in a UK prison and was expected to appear in court in September for a plea hearing.
However, following Tuesday’s proceedings, Kuti said the plea hearing had been moved to February 8, 2027, with the trial scheduled to begin one month later.
He also urged members of the public to allow the judicial process to take its course and refrain from reaching conclusions based solely on allegations or information circulating publicly.
“Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and that principle must be respected throughout the entire process,” he said.
The development means Poco Lee’s case will remain before the UK courts into 2027, with the outcome to be determined through the judicial process.
