Babagana Zulum has disbanded the Borno State Executive Council as part of moves linked to the political build-up toward the 2027 general elections.
The development was confirmed in an official statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijani, and made public by the governor’s media aide, Dauda Illiya.
The decision, according to the statement, is designed to give cabinet members who have political ambitions the opportunity to pursue them without constraints.
All commissioners have been directed to hand over the administration of their ministries to Permanent Secretaries on or before April 3, 2026.
Zulum also expressed gratitude to the outgoing council members, praising their commitment and the roles they played in advancing development across Borno State.
