Jasmin Lawrence and Eric Murphy, children of Hollywood comedy legends Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy, have welcomed their first child together.
Eddie Murphy revealed the news while attending his American Film Institute Life Achievement Award ceremony on Saturday, April 18, telling E! that the couple had recently become parents.
“They just had a baby girl. They just had her two weeks ago, or a week ago. Yeah, Ari Skye.”
The pair, who come from two of the most iconic families in American comedy, confirmed their relationship in 2021 and got married in 2025. When they announced their engagement in 2024, they shared on Instagram that their relationship felt destined and described it as a “blessed” new chapter in their lives.
Although their fathers have worked together in films such as Boomerang and Life, Jasmin Lawrence previously explained that she and Eric Murphy actually met through her uncle rather than through their famous parents.
“It wasn’t even our dads, and they’ve done two movies together. They’re friends. I don’t even know. It’s crazy. But we met through my uncle, and we became really good friends. We bonded on a lot of things. Obviously, we have similar backgrounds, so we understood each other on a certain level.”
