The Football Association has reportedly imposed a four-year ban on Mykhailo Mudryk, according to transfer journalist Ben Jacobs.

Mudryk has been sidelined from action at Chelsea FC since December 2024, when he was provisionally suspended after returning a positive test for a banned substance. The club later reassigned his number 10 jersey to Cole Palmer in mid-2025.

He was formally charged for anti-doping violations and has remained out of competitive action since then, with the reported four-year ban marking a major escalation in the case.

Despite the ruling, the matter is still unresolved as Mudryk has taken the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. His appeal was filed in February 2026, and both parties have already exchanged written submissions, although a hearing date is yet to be set.

The final outcome now depends on the CAS decision, while Chelsea may also explore the possibility of terminating his contract by mutual consent.

Mudryk joined Chelsea from FC Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023 on an eight-and-a-half-year deal, in a transfer package initially valued at ÂŁ62 million, potentially rising to ÂŁ89 million with add-ons.
