Uzor Arukwe emerged as one of the biggest winners at the 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards after taking home the Best Lead Actor award on Saturday night.

The talented actor received the honour for his standout role in the fantasy movie Colours of Fire, where his performance earned widespread praise for its intensity and emotional delivery.

Organisers of the awards ceremony celebrated Arukwe’s dedication to his craft, commending the passion and discipline he displayed throughout the film.

The Best Lead Actor category, sponsored by Don Julio, was considered one of the toughest categories at the event due to the strong list of nominees.

In Colours of Fire, Arukwe portrayed a troubled warrior sent on a dangerous mission to track down a deadly creature, only to discover shocking truths connected to his own people.

His portrayal blended action, emotion and vulnerability, helping to elevate the film’s storytelling and leaving a strong impression on viewers and critics.

The win marks a significant achievement in Arukwe’s acting career. He also received another nomination at this year’s AMVCA in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in Behind The Scenes.

Over the years, the actor has built a reputation for delivering strong performances across different genres, including comedy, drama and action, becoming one of Nollywood’s most reliable stars on television, in cinemas and on streaming platforms.

His latest AMVCA victory further cements his place among the top actors in Nollywood as the industry continues to attract global recognition through major productions and compelling storytelling.
