Guests at the 2026 edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards were left entertained after comedian Bovi Ugboma and actress Nomzamo Mbatha recreated the viral drama involving Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham.

The duo turned the controversial moment into comedy while presenting an award segment on stage during Saturday’s event.

Nomzamo played the role of Funke Akindele, while Bovi acted as Toyin Abraham in a humorous reenactment of the scene that recently sparked conversations online after the premiere of The Return of Arinzo.

While acting out the moment, Bovi jokingly said, “Aunty, aunty Funke… mtcheeww. If I ever present award to you, call me bastard,” a comment that immediately sent the audience into laughter.

The original incident became a trending topic after a video from the movie premiere surfaced online. In the clip, Toyin Abraham was seen greeting several celebrities, including Iyabo Ojo and Mercy Aigbe, before approaching Funke Akindele, who appeared not to respond to her greeting at the Balmoral Event Centre.
