Comedian Funny Bone has opened up about grief, forgiveness and the harsh realities of life following the loss of people close to him.
The comedian revealed that after already losing both parents, he recently lost two people he personally knew to cancer within the span of seven days. According to him, the painful experience made him realise how fragile life truly is.
“Grief can be painful, but at the same time, humbling. It opens your eyes to how fickle life can be. I have lost and buried both parents, and I also just lost two people I knew directly to cancer within the space of 7 days.”
Funny Bone admitted he expected the world to slow down for a moment because of the losses, but instead discovered that life continued normally for everyone else.
“I thought the world would pause for a bit, but to my greatest surprise, we all moved on like nothing happened. Like the world just moved on.”
He disclosed that he spent three days alone indoors in a dark room reflecting deeply about life and relationships, which led him to make a major decision.
“I then realized that there is really nothing to this life. I stayed indoors for 3 days alone in a dark room and reflected on a whole lot of things. Then I came to the conclusion that I will make peace with every person I fell out with in the past.”
The comedian said he has already started reconciling with people and the inner peace he now feels is unmatched.
“I have started the process already, and the peace I have within me now is something I haven’t felt in a long while. I started by forgiving myself, and then others.
“My heart felt unburdened, and the joy I feel, I can’t even explain.”
He concluded his emotional message by reminding people that life is temporary and humans often make things harder than they should be.
“Nothing really dey this life. Na humans dey make am difficult. All man go knai one day, las las.”
