President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigerians to use the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir to pray for peace in the country, asking for divine guidance for leaders and a change of heart for those involved in criminal activities.
In his message to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, the President called for prayers for national unity, peaceful communities, and wisdom for those in positions of authority.
“To our Muslim faithful, I urge you to use this sacred occasion to pray for our country, for peace in our communities, and for wisdom for those in leadership,” he said.
Tinubu also appealed for prayers for individuals engaged in violence and crime, urging them to abandon their actions or face the consequences of the law.
“Let us pray that those who commit crimes among us may rethink and abandon their evil ways, or face the full weight of the law,” he stated.
He described Eid-el-Kabir as a period that reflects sacrifice, obedience and compassion, encouraging Nigerians to uphold these values and strengthen bonds across religious and ethnic lines.
The President expressed optimism that Nigeria would overcome its security challenges, noting that ongoing efforts by security agencies continue to make progress despite pockets of insecurity in some regions.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to restoring peace and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the country.
