Nigerian music star Davido has pushed back against claims linking him to the City Boys movement following an exchange with a social media user over the country’s growing insecurity.

The singer had earlier expressed concern about the state of the nation, admitting that entertainers, himself included, have not done enough to speak up against injustice.

“I can’t lie we entertainers.. we Dey fuckup I won’t lie including me … we need to speak up… it’s too much injustice goin on.. our country don go,” he posted on X.

His comment drew a sharp response from an X user, Princess Luna, who accused him of being insincere and suggested he should take his concerns to a City Boys group chat.

Responding, Davido firmly denied being associated with any such group while addressing his relationship with Seyi Tinubu.

“I no Dey part of any city boy group.

“When I called out the government on American media you guys rained curses on me.

“I’ve been friends with ST for years and that’s were it stops and i call and complain to him all the time .. even in person.

“GOD PURNISH UR GENERATION.”

After the heated exchange, the singer appeared eager to move on from the conversation, posting: “I Dey go sleep abeg Una own too much.”
