Nigerian reality TV star Phyna has raised an alarm over what she described as a troubling encounter involving officers of the Nigeria Police Force, alleging that her cameraman was taken away and her equipment seized during the incident.
In a video shared on her Snapchat account, the BBNaija winner appeared visibly distressed as she narrated how the situation unfolded, insisting that the officers did not properly introduce themselves or explain their actions.
According to her, the officers stopped them, took her cameraman away, and confiscated a bag containing her laptop and camera without providing any reason or information about where they were being taken.
Phyna further alleged that when she demanded answers, one of the officers accused her of being a drug dealer.
She said:
“What is inside my bag? What is inside my bag? No name, no…”
Police officer: “You are a drug dealer.”
Reacting in the video, Phyna insisted she was not informed of any offence, adding that the officers acted without proper identification or explanation.
“You carried my bag. No name, I’m a drug dealer? My laptop bag… you didn’t introduce yourself, you carried my cameraman… now he’s been kidnapped,” she said.
She also claimed the officers did not display name tags or provide details of their operation, adding that she was left confused about the whereabouts of her cameraman and seized belongings.
Phyna described the incident as alarming, suggesting that it felt like an abduction carried out by men in police uniform.
As of the time of filing this report, the Nigeria Police Force has yet to respond to the allegations.
