The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has directed all its branches nationwide to conclude church activities by 8:00 pm and suspend vigils and overnight programmes until further notice, citing rising security concerns across the country.

The directive was contained in an internal memo dated June 5, 2026, and signed by the Director of Administration at the church’s international headquarters in Lagos, Temitope A. Olawale.

According to the church, the decision was taken in the interest of the safety and well-being of members amid the prevailing security challenges in the country.

The memo stated that all services, meetings and other church programmes must henceforth end not later than 8:00 pm, while vigils and overnight prayer sessions have been suspended indefinitely.

It added that where necessary, vigils may be converted into evening prayer programmes but must still be concluded on or before 8:00 pm.

“These measures are purely precautionary and are intended to safeguard the lives and well-being of our members in the face of the current security situation in the country. All MFM ministers, groups, and departments are to strictly comply with this directive,” the church stated.

The memo was circulated to Principal Regional Overseers, Senior Regional Overseers, Mega Regional Overseers, zonal pastors and branch pastors for immediate implementation.

The development comes amid growing insecurity concerns across parts of the country, including cases of banditry, kidnapping and attacks on rural communities.
