Veteran Nollywood actor Nkem Owoh has disclosed that his journey to fame was not a deliberate pursuit, revealing that acting in front of the camera happened by chance.

According to him, he initially worked behind the scenes as a scriptwriter before being persuaded by people around him to try acting.

“My coming in front of the camera was an accident. I was a scriptwriter behind the scenes and people started telling me to start performing in front of the camera,” he said.

The acclaimed actor also reflected on the realities of celebrity life, noting that fame comes with significant sacrifices that many aspiring stars often fail to consider.

“Fame took away my freedom,” he stated, stressing that while many people desire celebrity status, they are often unaware of its disadvantages.

“A lot of people want to be celebrities. They only know the benefits but not the downsides,” the veteran actor added.
