Actor Stan Nze has raised concerns after phones were reportedly stolen during the service of songs held in honour of late actor Alexx Ekubo.
According to him, more than five phones went missing at the event, adding that the actual number could be higher than what was initially reported.
“So we had service of songs of late Actor Alex Ekubo last night and to my greatest surprise over 5 phones were stolen, I said 5 because I didn’t want to exaggerate it. I am so sure it’s above 5 phones, and I am very sure it wasn’t just one person that stole all the phones,” he said.
He questioned the behaviour of those responsible, describing the incident as deeply disturbing given the nature of the gathering.
“The question now is how do people come to where people are mourning and grieving and you come to add more sorrows to their sorrow? Where’s our conscience as human beings and as Nigerians?” he added.
Stan Nze also used the moment to reflect on broader issues of morality in society, linking the incident to wider concerns about honesty and accountability among citizens.
The service of songs, held on June 10, 2026, was organised as a pre-burial gathering where family, friends, and colleagues came together to honour the late actor.
