Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has explained why he continues to support President Bola Tinubu despite belonging to a different political party, saying his decision is based on regional unity and the president’s connection to Osun State.
Speaking during an interview with journalists, Adeleke appealed to Nigerians to be patient with Tinubu’s administration, noting that the president needs more time to implement his policies and reforms.
According to the governor, Tinubu deserves support because he has ancestral ties to Osun and currently represents the South at the nation’s highest office.
“I am supporting President Tinubu because he has roots in Osun State, and because it is the turn of the South. Nigerians should please give him time to implement his reforms. He has also made efforts in releasing funds to state governors to support development across the federation,” Adeleke said.
The governor also commended the federal government for providing financial support to states, saying the funds released have helped governors undertake developmental projects and improve governance at the sub-national level.
