Japan produced a dominant display to defeat Tunisia 4-0 in Guadalupe, securing a convincing victory that sent the North African side crashing out of the World Cup after just two matches.

Tunisia entered the game under new manager Herve Renard, who was appointed following the team’s humiliating 5-1 loss to Sweden in their opener. The French coach, making his third World Cup appearance after previous stints with Morocco and Saudi Arabia, was unable to inspire an immediate turnaround as Tunisia struggled once again.

Japan took control early and never looked back. Their opening goal came after a flowing team move, with Keito Nakamura setting up Daichi Kamada to finish neatly. Ayase Ueda doubled the advantage with a stunning strike before halftime, leaving Tunisia with a mountain to climb.

The Asian side maintained their momentum after the break. Ueda turned provider this time, releasing Junya Ito, who calmly beat goalkeeper Aymen Dahmen in a one-on-one situation to make it 3-0.

Kaishu Sano added the fourth goal late in the game after combining brilliantly with Ueda, putting the finishing touches on an impressive Japanese performance.

The heavy defeat caps a disastrous tournament for Tunisia, who exit the competition having conceded nine goals in two games. Japan, meanwhile, move level with the Netherlands on both points and goal difference in Group F as they continue their push for a place in the knockout stages.
