Spain delivered a dominant performance on Sunday as they cruised to a 4-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in their World Cup Round 2 clash, strengthening their reputation as one of the tournament favourites.

From the opening whistle, Spain controlled the game with sharp passing, high possession, and relentless attacking pressure that left Saudi Arabia chasing shadows for much of the encounter.

Teenage star Lamine Yamal broke the deadlock in the 10th minute, calmly finishing from close range after connecting with a precise assist from Mikel Oyarzabal. The early goal gave Spain full control and set the pace for a one-sided first half.

Spain doubled their lead in the 21st minute when Oyarzabal reacted quickest inside the box, converting from close range after Aymeric Laporte’s header from a corner routine.

Just three minutes later, Oyarzabal struck again to make it 3-0, finishing off a slick team move involving Dani Olmo, as Spain completely overran their opponents before halftime.

Saudi Arabia made changes after the break in an effort to stabilize the game, but Spain remained in control and added a fourth goal in the 49th minute when Hassan Tambakti inadvertently turned the ball into his own net under pressure.

With the result firmly secured, Spain manager Luis de la Fuente made several substitutions, introducing Ferran Torres, Yeremy Pino, Fabián Ruiz, and Nico Williams to manage the closing stages of the match.
