Manchester United and AFC Bournemouth played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Vitality Stadium, with both sides sharing the points after a dramatic contest.

United twice went in front during the game, thanks to a composed penalty from Bruno Fernandes and an unfortunate own goal by Hill. However, Bournemouth showed resilience, pulling level through Christie before Kroupi calmly converted a late penalty to secure a deserved draw.

The game took a decisive turn in the closing stages when Harry Maguire was sent off for dragging down Evanilson as the Brazilian forward broke through on goal. The referee had no hesitation in issuing a straight red card, judging Maguire to be the last man, despite his protests.

There was added irony to the dismissal, as England boss Thomas Tuchel had named Maguire in his latest squad earlier in the day.

From the resulting foul, Bournemouth were awarded a penalty, and Kroupi stepped up confidently to make it 2-2, ensuring the hosts capitalised on their numerical advantage.

Earlier, the breakthrough came just after the hour mark when Cunha was brought down inside the box by Jimenez, prompting the referee to point to the spot. Fernandes made no mistake, sending Petrovic the wrong way with a neat finish into the bottom corner.

Bournemouth responded almost immediately, as Christie capped off a swift counter-attack with a clinical strike from the edge of the area, setting the tone for a pulsating finish.
