Mary Remmy Njoku has expressed her reservations about the modern parenting style widely referred to as gentle parenting, questioning the logic behind it.
The actress, in a post on her Instagram page, said she does not understand why parents are expected to negotiate with children, arguing that their cognitive abilities are still developing and not fully formed.
She further stated that her approach to such conversations with her own children does not usually last, adding that her kids are already aware of this.
“Please, who started this gentle parenting?. Who gathered all of us and said we should now begin to negotiate with tiny humans whose brains are still under construction?. Because explain to me why lam calmly saying, “Sweetheart, the glass center table is not a stool……like I’m delivering a TED. Talk in a foreign language inside Balogun market. Even my kids know this won’t last. Nope!!,” she stated.
