A heavy downpour on Sunday flooded sections of Ikorodu Road in Lagos, leaving several vehicles stranded and triggering severe traffic congestion along one of the city’s busiest routes.
Videos circulating online showed large portions of the road submerged, with motorists struggling to navigate the flooded areas as long queues of vehicles built up.
The flooding comes amid recent warnings by the Lagos State Government that heavy rainfall and flash floods could affect several parts of the state during the peak of the rainy season.
Authorities have urged residents and road users to remain cautious and avoid flood-prone areas whenever possible.
