A tragic incident has thrown residents of Kogi State into mourning after a 22-year-old teacher, Mariam Usman, was allegedly beaten to death by the father of one of her students.
The incident reportedly occurred in Ugbamaka, Okpo District, Olamaboro Local Government Area of the state.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident began after Mariam disciplined a student while carrying out her duties as a teacher. The student’s father allegedly confronted her over the punishment, and the disagreement reportedly turned violent.
Mariam reportedly suffered severe injuries during the attack and later died.
