Veteran Nollywood actress Ireti Doyle has opened up about her growing frustration with the challenges facing Nigeria, saying she feels completely worn out by the country’s current situation.

The actress first shared her feelings on X, where she posted, “I’m Nigerian; and I am officially exhausted!!”

She later elaborated on Instagram, pointing to the struggling economy, worsening insecurity and recurring floods as some of the issues leaving many Nigerians overwhelmed.

According to Doyle, these problems have become an annual cycle that continues to intensify, especially as the political season approaches.

She wrote:

“E nleee o…

A ku asiko yi…

Economy, security, now floods…

Same thing, every year, only amplified.

Add this cocktail to the fact that “the season” is upon us…

The cacaphony of voices will get louder…

Gaslighting and manipulation will be at all time high…

And the violence?

It’s not a prediction, it’s a pattern.

Pay attention to patterns…

You will recognise things as they unfold.

We are here again.

Oluwa, gba akoso!”

Her comments have since generated widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians echoing her concerns over the country’s economic, security and humanitarian challenges.
