The Mount Zion gospel film community has been thrown into mourning following the death of actor Oluwasegun Oyeyemi, who was widely recognised for playing Flora’s husband in the popular gospel series Abattoir.
The news of his passing became public on Tuesday and has since sparked an outpouring of grief from fellow actors, fans and supporters of the ministry.
Oyeyemi’s death adds to a series of tragic losses involving cast members of Abattoir.
Earlier this year, actress Toluwalope Adegboyega-Alagbe, who portrayed Flora in the series, died on February 4, 2025, after suffering complications from injuries sustained in a road accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on December 26, 2024. The accident also claimed the life of one of her two-year-old twin daughters.
Following her death, Mount Zion founder Mike Bamiloye, Joshua Mike Bamiloye and other members of the gospel film ministry paid glowing tributes to the late actress.
Oyeyemi also joins the list of departed Abattoir actors after the recent death of veteran gospel actor Moses Korede Are, popularly known as Baba Gbenro.
