Former Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has reportedly been questioned by French police over an alleged money laundering operation linked to a notorious drug trafficker known as “Baby Boar.”
According to reports from France, the 39-year-old spent about 10 hours being questioned by officers from the country’s financial investigative unit, BRIF. However, he has not been charged and is not believed to be the subject of any further legal action.
The investigation is reportedly tied to a nightclub called XS in Ivry-sur-Seine, near Paris, in which Nasri purchased a stake in 2016 while playing for Manchester City.
Authorities are also investigating Karim Berrebouh, a convicted Marseille-based drug trafficker nicknamed “Baby Boar,” who has been in prison since 2021. Nasri is understood to have known Berrebouh’s family from childhood.
Investigators allege that Berrebouh’s wife collected cash from the nightclub between 2021 and 2023 as part of the wider probe.
During questioning, Nasri reportedly told investigators that he believed he had already sold his entire stake in the nightclub to Berrebouh through an informal verbal agreement. His lawyer, Saïd Harir, declined to comment on the matter.
Nasri, who currently works as a football pundit for Canal+ in France, has not been charged with any offence, and reports say he is not facing further legal proceedings at this time.
