Singer B-Red has allegedly survived what the Osun State Government has described as an assassination attempt in Osogbo.

The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday afternoon around the Oke Fia area, close to the Government House.

Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, confirmed the development in a statement released on Thursday.

According to him, suspected hoodlums allegedly led by a man identified as Asiri Eniba tried to attack the singer while he was driving through the area.

B-Red, whose real name is Adebayo Adeleke, explained that he had visited Alekuwodo Market to make some purchases before the situation unfolded as he was heading back.

He said trouble began during his attempt to leave the area, when his vehicle was suddenly trailed and obstructed.

The singer claimed that both a car and several motorcycles pursued him through different streets, repeatedly attempting to block his path.

He added that the chase only ended when he drove into the Osun State Government House premises at Oke Fia, where he was able to take refuge.

“We moved and the Toyota Venza kept following us, trying to block my jeep. At the same time, the motorcycles joined in the pursuit. It continued until we reached the gate of the Osun State Government House, Oke-Fia.”

B-Red also alleged that one of the occupants of the pursuing vehicle was Asiri Eniba, whom he described as a known APC thug.
