Gunmen attacked a wedding in Kahir village, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, leaving 13 people dead and abducting an unknown number of attendees.
Shehu Bala, a local resident, told our reporter on Monday that the incident occurred around 11:47 pm on Sunday. He said the attackers, wielding AK-47 rifles and moving in large numbers, stormed the wedding hall and opened fire on guests.
Several victims with gunshot injuries were taken to Kagarko General Hospital, while two others with critical injuries were transferred to facilities in Kaduna. Bala added, “Two of my friends who were inside the hall also sustained bullet wounds during the attack. The exact number of people kidnapped is unclear due to the chaos and sporadic shooting.”
A community leader who requested anonymity confirmed the attack and provided the names of some of those killed: Bako Danjuma, Williams Luka, Peter Williams, Joseph Yakubu, Victor Peter, John Dan Asabe, Angulu Markus, Maikano Aribi, Douglas John, Ado Yakubu, Zaphaniah Alhaji, Joseph Kaddah, and Francis Unguwa Doya.
