Chelsea have officially announced the signing of England international Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, with the forward committing his future to the club on a long-term contract until 2033.
The 23-year-old’s arrival was confirmed by the Blues on Tuesday, as he prepares to join Xabi Alonso’s squad for the 2026/27 season.
Speaking after sealing the transfer, Rogers said he was delighted to complete the move to Stamford Bridge.
“I’m so excited. For me, Chelsea are the biggest club in London and a club I’ve always admired since I was a kid,” he said.
“I’m really excited about the project with the new manager, the players we’ve got and where the club is heading. That’s why I’m here and I can’t wait to get started.”
Rogers leaves Aston Villa after making a strong impression in the Premier League, where he developed into one of the league’s brightest attacking players.
He registered 40 goal contributions in 85 Premier League matches, playing a major role in Villa’s top-four finish before helping the club lift the UEFA Europa League title last season.
On the international stage, Rogers has become a regular member of the England squad since making his senior debut in November 2024. The forward has earned 22 caps and was part of England’s squad at this summer’s FIFA World Cup.
Chelsea will now look to integrate the England star into Alonso’s plans as they aim to challenge for major honours in the new season.
