Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze has sparked reactions online after expressing shock over the amount he was charged to watch a FIFA World Cup match at a viewing centre in the United States.
The actor, popularly known as Aki, shared a video in which he jokingly complained that he and others were asked to pay $30 just to watch the game on a screen, despite not being inside the stadium.
Clearly surprised by the fee, Chinedu said:
“We came to watch a World Cup match at a viewing centre, not a stadium, yet they are charging us $30. This America, werey ni e.”
His comment, delivered in a humorous tone, quickly resonated with fans, many of whom flooded social media with reactions.
While some laughed at his frustration and compared the price to the much cheaper rates at Nigerian viewing centres, others noted that such charges are not unusual in the United States, especially during major sporting events like the World Cup.
