Comoros have secured a meeting with African champions Nigeria’s Super Falcons after a staggering 30–0 aggregate victory over Sudan in the first round of the qualifiers for the 2028 Olympic Games.

The Coelacanths produced a ruthless performance across both legs, winning the first encounter 17–0 on June 3 before following it up with a 13–0 demolition five days later to complete the one-sided tie.

In the opening leg, Comoros took an early lead within eight minutes and maintained relentless pressure throughout the match. Nine different players found the net, highlighting the team’s attacking depth and dominance.

The second leg proved even more overwhelming, with Comoros scoring three first-half goals and adding 10 more after the break to seal another emphatic win.

The result means they advance 30–0 on aggregate and will now face Nigeria’s Super Falcons in what is expected to be a far tougher test in the next round.

The Super Falcons, Africa’s most successful women’s national team, are widely regarded as favourites heading into the clash.

Justine Madugu’s side recently defeated Senegal 3–0 in a friendly at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, following a 2–1 victory in the first meeting between both teams last week.

The second-round qualifiers are scheduled for October 5 to 13, 2026, with two African teams expected to secure qualification for the women’s football event at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
