The Federal High Court in Abuja has approved bail for the National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo, who is facing trial over an alleged $2.63 million money laundering case.
Justice Inyang Ekwo delivered the ruling on Monday, granting Bodejo bail in the sum of ₦2 billion after finding that the offences against him are bailable under the law.
The court directed the defendant to provide a surety worth the same amount. The surety must be an Abuja resident, possess a three-year tax clearance certificate, and own landed property in the Federal Capital Territory valued at ₦2 billion. The court also ordered that the property’s documents be verified by its registrar.
As part of the bail conditions, Bodejo must surrender his international passport and cannot travel outside Nigeria without obtaining permission from the court.
Justice Ekwo fixed October 5, 6 and 7, 2026, for the commencement of trial.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Bodejo on July 9 on multiple counts of alleged money laundering involving about $2.63 million.
